Women's Ministry

The women’s ministry at First Baptist seeks to meet spiritual needs of the women at First Baptist and in our community. We strive to meet them where they are and help them find a place where you can meet new friends, and grow in faith.
Some of the events that help us fulfill our ministry with and for women include:

Women’s Fellowship
The second Monday of every month, we meet at 9:30 am to gather for fellowship, snacks, and informational programs that Baptist Women promote.

Sewing B’s
Every Tuesday we meet at 9:00 am to tie and put together quilts that are given to battered women at Christian Friendliness. No experience is needed, it's easy and fun!

Women’s Bible Study
Every Wednesday morning at 10:00 there is a women’s Bible study at the church for all ages. Come join us as we look at an in-depth study of God’s word. Each session guides us through the Scriptures, presents a group discussion, and helps us grow in a deeper relationship with God as well as others. Often after Bible study, the group will have lunch together at a local eatery.

Exercise Class
Every Tuesday morning at 8:30 am, women gather for instructional exercise, led by our Parish Nurse. The class is for all levels of physical fitness.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
We pray as we knit or crochet a shawl, scarf, throw, baby blanket, etc. When the work is completed, we gather for a brief blessing ceremony. We deliver these items to anyone in need of comfort. They can be persons with a serious illness, a shut-in, a first-time mother, a graduate, etc.

Red Hat Ladies
The women gather occasionally for a Red Hat luncheon at different locations in the area.

Diaper Depot
Every other month on Saturday mornings from 10am to noon we hold Diaper Depot where we give away a free one-week emergency supply of diapers to anyone in need of them. Also available free are children's and baby clothes and sometimes wipes. The months we hold Diaper Depot are January, March, May, July, September, and November.
